Understanding Your Account Status

Pursuant to POJK No. 24 of 2025 on the Management of Commercial Bank Accounts, adjustments will be made to the status of Savings and Current Accounts. 
These adjustments will be implemented in phases and are scheduled to commence on 8 May 2026.

Account Status Categories

A. Active Account

An account with transaction activity involving withdrawals and deposits made by the customer themselves. Active accounts can carry out withdrawal and deposit transactions.

B. Inactive Account

An account with no withdrawal or deposit transactions by the customer for more than 360 days. Inactive accounts cannot perform withdrawal transactions.

C. Dormant Account

An account with no withdrawal or deposit transactions by the customer for more than 1,800 days. Dormant accounts cannot perform withdrawal or deposit transactions. 

These terms apply to Savings and Current Accounts (per account).

Exceptions  

a. Automatic transactions generated by the bank’s system are not counted as transaction activity

b. Accounts with specific purposes, such as term deposits, or those currently subject to a dispute, are still classified as active accounts.

For example:
-    myFAMILY SAVING Savings
-    TabunganKu
-    SimPel Savings
-    Investment Accounts (RDN) 
-    Accounts for Government Programmes (DHE)

Transition

  • Accounts with inactive or dormant status prior to the effective date of POJK No. 24 of 2025 (10 November 2025) will be designated as Inactive Accounts.

Automatic Account Closure

  • Accounts with a balance of Rp 0 for 6 consecutive months (180 days) will be automatically closed by the Bank’s system.
  • Automatic closure does not apply to specific designated accounts or those affiliated with other products. 

To ensure convenience in financial transactions, avoid your account becoming Inactive or Dormant by regularly conducting transactions (deposits and withdrawals).

FAQ

Your account is classified as Inactive or Dormant if it meets the criteria for Inactive or Dormant status in accordance with the regulations (as per POJK No. 24 of 2025, having no deposit or withdrawal activity) over a certain period.
